Knox County Commission considers resolutions aimed at improving Beaver Creek, including Powell area
POWELL, Tenn. — Knox County Commissioners voted Monday after considering resolutions aimed at improving Beaver Creek. One resolution effectively approves a grant contract to remove the Coward Mill Dam in northwest Knox County and stabilize Beaver Creek's banks. By removing the dam, county leaders hope to promote water quality and fish passage. 4-star LB Christian Gass announces commitment
Four-star linebacker recruit Christian Gass has committed to the Tennessee Volunteers over the Georgia Bulldogs. Gass’ commitment brings Tennessee’s class of 2025 into the top-10 recruiting classes in the country. The elite linebacker prospect plays high school football for Eastside High School in Covington, Georgia. The Eastside standout is Tennessee’s No. 18 commitment in the class of 2025. The Volunteers are still behind Georgia in the SEC recruiting rankings. Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart have the third-best recruiting class in the nation. Gass is ranked as the No. 204 player in the class of 2025, per the 247Sports Composite. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker is the No. 22 player at his position and the No. 31 prospect in Georgia. Tennessee is getting a that versatile linebacker plays both edge and outside linebacker. Gass has excellent speed off the edge and sticks to opposing receiving targets in pass coverage. Gass also runs track for Eastside and has good speed.
