Blood donations are urgently needed for patients in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas
The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is down to less than a day of blood for area patients, and it's urging eligible donors to give as soon as possible. This marks the most severe shortage in over two years, according to Michelle Teter, spokesperson for CBCO. The blood bank is calling it "an emergency need."

Fort Smith schools trying phone-free program this upcoming school year
FORT SMITH, Ark. — At a board meeting on July 22, Fort Smith Public Schools announced a pilot program aimed at creating phone-free environments at schools in the district. Starting in the upcoming 2024-25 school year, Kimmons Middle School and Ramsey Middle School will use Yondr pouches to securely store students' phones and electronics during the school day.
