    Most of the power restored, road remains closed after truck knocked out power in Harrisburg

    HARRISBURG, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Over 500 people were without power after a concrete truck damaged a power line near Highway 49, according to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office .

    According to the Sheriff’s Office, a concrete truck pulled into the Harrisburg Hometown Pharmacy near Highway 49 and Morehead Road before walking across the street to get a Wendy’s biscuit. When the driver pulled out, they snagged a powerline causing it to become damaged.

    As of 9 p.m., the majority of power has been restored to the area.

    Highway 49 is still closed between Morehead Road and Harris Depot Road.

    Deputies don’t expect it to reopen before midnight.
