(WHTM)– The Central Penn College ‘knights’ announced the hiring of their new head baseball coach on Monday, July 22.

Charles “Chaz” Stevens is joining Central Penn as head coach after two years as head coach at his alma mater, Central Dauphin East High School in Harrisburg.

Steven stayed local throughout college, attending Penn State Harrisburg, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology with a focus on social service and community outreach. Central Penn says Steven’s education greatly influences his coaching style.

“I look forward to building a united, resilient team that excels both on the field and in personal growth,” Stevens said. “My goal is to create a culture of excellence, teamwork, and individual development that will set the stage for lasting success.”

Central Penn College said Steven’s coaching philosophy aligns with the College’s vision of helping athletes excel on and off the baseball field.

“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Stevens to the Central Penn College family,” said Athletic Director Kasey Hicks. “His passion for the game, combined with his dedication to student-athletes’ success both on and off the field, is truly admirable. I have no doubt he will make a lasting impact on our baseball program.”
