HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Harrisburg has made a major upgrade to its data center.

Harrisburg’s IT department has recently completed its 18-month project in creating a secondary full-scale backup location that will store all data the city sends to the cloud automatically. This will allow any data to be retrieved in the event of a major technology outage or cyberattack.

“It ensures that if something goes down here at city hall, the city can continue normal day-to-day operations without anyone in the city, residents businesses or otherwise,” said Harrisburg’s Director of Communications Matt Maisel. “[They can] see any blip in what’s going to happen.”
