Michigan man sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling meth in Harrison County
CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) - A Michigan man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling methamphetamine in Harrison County. Bacarre Curtis, 23, of Eastpointe, Michigan, was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison Tuesday for possession with intent to distribute fifty grams or more of methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Fletcher Covered Bridge
The Fletcher Covered Bridge, at Maken, northeast of Salem, West Virginia, in Harrison County, spans the upper reach of Ten Mile Creek, a tributary of the West Fork River, and is a 58-foot-long multiple-kingpost truss. The bridge was built by Solomon Swiger in 1891. One of two remaining covered bridges in Harrison County; the other is the Simpson Creek Covered Bridge at Bridgeport, West Virginia.

A pair of Harrison County Sheriff’s Department deputies, including the first female in the office’s history, were sworn in Tuesday in Clarksburg. Sheriff Robert Matheny provide the oath to serve to Kaleigh Wetzel and Roger King during a late morning ceremony at their Main Street headquarters. Both are certified and were able to begin their duties immediately.
