    Driver pronounced dead after striking pole in Harrison Twp.

    HARRISON TWP., Ohio ( WDTN ) — Deputies are investigating a crash that left one person dead on Sunday morning.

    According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, a serious injury crash was reported at 6:40 a.m. on July 14. Deputies and medics responded to the intersection of Salem Avenue and Free Pike.

    Upon arrival, crews found a Buick Lucerne had struck an RTA pole near the intersection. Deputies determined that the driver had lost control of their vehicle while traveling northbound on Salem Avenue and slid sideways into the pole.

    The driver was pronounced dead on scene by the Harrison Township Fire Department.

    This accident remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office traffic investigators.
