Ryan Simon, a long-time assistant, is set to become the 25th leader of the program, taking over for another former Viking in Steve Sayre, who was in charge of the blue and white for four seasons.
One stroke at a time, Ivan Puskovitch has carved a path to the Paris Olympics
INDIANAPOLIS — Ivan Puskovitch and his West Virginia teammates got word around 5 p.m. on Thursday April 18 that their coach, Vic Riggs, was retiring. By the next morning, Puskovitch was on a plane to California, where he’d started his college career at USC and where he calls TSM Aquatics in Santa Monica home. By Saturday morning, he was in the water and back on schedule to chip away at his weekly workload of around 100,000 yards.
Delegate Stephens presents funding for Moundsville entities
MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — West Virginia Delegate Jeff Stephens presented funding to entities within the city of Moundsville on Tuesday. Both the Moundsville Police Department and parks and recreation received $1,000 each. The money comes from the local economic development funds delegates are given to put back into communities.

Parkersburg YMCA appoints new CEO
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The YMCA of Parkersburg announced they have appointed a new CEO. Benton Walker, from Savannah, Ga., was a program participant in the Coastal Georgia YMCA association. After high school, Walker attended Shaw University, earning a degree in Athletic Training in 2011. In 2016, he received an M.Ed. in Exercise Science Fitness and Wellness from Fairmont State University.

In the midst of several of his teammates achieving their dreams of being drafted, Logan Sauve feels he still has unfinished business in college with WVU Baseball. Derek Clark Selected by Los Angeles Angels
West Virginia left-handed pitcher Derek Clark has been drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the ninth round of the 2024 MLB draft. Clark transferred to WVU before last season after beginning his collegiate career at Northwood University (DII). He got a late start to his 2024 campaign due to injury but finished the season with an 8-3 record, 91 strikeouts, four complete games, one complete game shutout across 97.2 innings pitched with a 3.23 ERA.
