The Medical Equipment Loan Program provides no–cost medical equipment to individuals in our community based on their medical needs. The project is now celebrating its twelfth year and in 2018 expanded into the Lima area and now serves Allen County as well.
Ohio sees uptick in unemployment rate, lost jobs in June
COLUMBUS, Ohio — New economic data from the state shows that Ohio saw an uptick in its unemployment rate, and that it lost jobs in the month of June. Ohio lost 2,300 jobs during June from the revised May estimate, dropping the total employment to 5,652,900 jobs, according to figures released Friday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The state also did not add as many jobs in May as previously thought.

Allen County Council on Aging hold Medicare Workshop for Lima residents
LIMA (WLIO) - The Allen County Council on Aging held a Medicare workshop free to the public this afternoon. The workshop was presented by trained and certified workers from the Ohio Senior Health Insurance program and provided those in attendance with information that has to be considered when becoming eligible for health insurance.

Allen Lima Leadership celebrations 35 years of developing adult and youth leaders in our community. The signature Allen Lima Leadership class runs once a year, from September to June. Executive Director Matt Childers told us that participants spend one full day each month on themes such as education, agriculture, economic development and criminal justice. Part of each day is dedicated to training in advanced leadership principles. Classes also develop and execute community service projects. 30-35 adults enroll in ALL each year. "One of the things participants say is the most important to them is not only the leadership component, but the networking and connecting." Matt told us that nearly 40 high school sophomores and juniors register for the ALL youth program every year. It involves, educates and challenges youth to reach their fullest potential as leaders. The Lima Rotary Club is one of the sponsors of the ALL youth program and hosts its annual graduation each spring.
