WILBARGER COUNTY ( KFDX/KJTL ) — In little Harrold, Texas sits a petting zoo. But for one night, part of it went on tour to Electra to help raise some money for it to grow.

Little Eden Farm and Exotics is a petting zoo and animal rehab owned and operated by Tammy Raines. Raines opened Little Eden with her husband Mitch Raines, who passed away in March 2023 after a hit-and-run. For Tammy, this benefit was more than just a way to grow the farm.

“It means a lot because, like I said, that was a passion that we both had,” Raines said. “And after I did lose him, you know, it’s a good thing that I had the animals because, you know, that’s what keeps me going, what gets me up every day.”

With animal rehab being a full-time job on top of owning a petting zoo, Raines is going to need some help as she and Little Eden continue to grow. John Reinke, a fellow animal lover, known for being “the only normal guy on Netflix’s Tiger King,” met Raines and decided to help her with this mission.

“My part is, I just really want to make sure that she’s got everything it takes to do that, because I know it can be overwhelming,” Reinke said. “She can reach out to me because I know people and I know people that know people and it just kind of trickles down.”

With animals like Lizzy Roo the Kangaroo and Snickerdoodle the Fainting Goat, among others, to take care of, Raines and Little Eden will have a difficult road ahead. But as long as the animals are with her, the road might not be as tough.
