Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run
Christmas is still over five months away, but the spirit of giving is happening now in Hart County. Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop (CSWS) Motorcycle Association is hosting a Toys for Tots/Christmas in July event on Saturday, July 20 at the Horse Cave Fire Department, located at 1040 E. Main Street in Horse Cave.
Mason Michael sworn in as new fire chief
The Horse Cave City Council met in regular session on Monday, July 8. New Fire Chief Mason Michael was sworn in as the new fire chief of the Horse Cave Fire Department. As he introduced himself, Mason explained he has lived in Horse Cave his whole life and attended both Caverna and later Hart County (where he graduated in 2014). He explained he’s been with the Horse Cave Volunteer Fire Department since October 2014.

Cram the Cruiser to be hosted in Barren and Hart counties
BARREN AND HART COUNTY, Ky. – Cram the Cruiser is a school supply drive event that will support students of Caverna Independent Schools on July 19. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., two locations will participate in Cram the Cruiser. Troopers will be at Horse Cave Family Dollar on 985 E. Main St. and the Cave City Dollar General on 299 E. Happy Valley St.

LINWOOD, Ky. – A Goodlettsville, Tennessee man is facing charges after deputies say he assaulted an officer on Sunday in Hart County. According to a uniform citation, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police responded to the scene of a single-vehicle wreck on the bridge at the 11,000 block of Hammonsville Road in Hart County.
