One person was sent to the hospital following a head-on, rollover crash in Plymouth over the weekend that led to one driver becoming trapped in their vehicle.

Emergency crews responded to South Street shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday on the report of a crash involving entrapment, according to the Terryville Fire Department .

Fire officials said two vehicles collided head-on, leading one of them to roll over onto its side.

Crews used a jaws of life tool for about four minutes to free one person who was trapped in a vehicle after the crash. Firefighters had to cut part of the roof off.

The entrapped individual was taken to an area hospital after being extricated from the vehicle, according to fire officials.

The road was closed for about two hours while police investigated the crash and firefighters removed a large amount of debris and fluid from the road.

    The crash remains under investigation.
