Travelers Championship retains Signature Event status on 2025 PGA Tour schedule

After a drama-filled tournament in which the world’s No. 1 player took home the title in a gripping one-hole playoff this summer, the Travelers Championship can look forward to another year with Signature Event status on the PGA Tour in 2025.

The Tour released its 2025 season schedule on Wednesday, and the Travelers was listed as one of eight Signature Events for the third straight year. The 2025 tournament is scheduled to take place at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell from June 16-22.

Travelers has a 10-year agreement to remain the tournament’s title sponsor through 2030. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed the tournament would remain a Signature Event next season in a press conference at the TPC River Highlands in June.

“Well, we have an agreement — this is the 18th year with Travelers, they’re in a 10 year agreement through 2030, and this event will be a Signature Event in 2025,” Monahan said.

Scottie Scheffler took home the title this past June, finishing at 22-under and defeating Tom Kim in a playoff. The tournament once again drew a large number of fans, estimated in the hundreds of thousands , and raised a record $3.2 million for charity .

The PGA Tour’s eight Signature Events will be the same in 2025 as they were this season, beginning with the Sentry in Maui on Dec. 30 and concluding with the Travelers.

    -The Sentry (Dec. 30-Jan. 5)
    -AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Jan. 27-Feb. 2)
    -The Genesis Invitational (Feb. 10-16)
-Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard (March 3-9)
    -RBC Heritage (April 14-20)
    -Truist Championship (May 5-11)
-The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (May 26-June 1)
    -Travelers Championship (June 16-22)

Signature Events boast tournament fields that include a higher percentage of the world’s top players, no cuts, increased FedEx Cup points and a higher payout to the winner.

Scheffler took home $3.6 million for his win in Cromwell in June, and the tournament had an overall purse of $20 million. By comparison, the 2022 Travelers, which was not a Signature Event, paid out a total of $8.3 million.

Other highlights on the PGA Tour schedule include the U.S. Open, to be held the week before the Travelers (June 9-15) at Oakmont Country Club outside of Pittsburgh, the Open Championship (July 14-20) at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland, and the PGA Championship (May 12-18) at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C.

The FedEx Cup Playoffs are set to run Aug. 4-24, with three events, concluding with the Tour Championship, Aug. 18-24 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
