First, it was ‘The Revolution’. Then, ‘The Reload.’

Now, after UConn football took a big step backwards last year, Jim Mora and the Huskies are done with nicknames for their season.

It’s all business as UConn enters the 2024 campaign, and with some talented transfers and a manageable schedule, there’s hope the program can return to a bowl game.

The Athletic , however, is not convinced.

The publication released its preseason college football rankings of every team in FBS, and UConn came in at No. 120, out of 134.

The good news? The Huskies play three of the 14 schools ranked lower than them this season, plus FCS school Merrimack. UConn will host the Warriors on Sep. 7, No. 125 Buffalo on Sept. 28 and No. 130 Temple on Oct. 5. They’ll travel to No. 132 UMass in the regular season finale on Nov. 30.

The Huskies will begin the season at Maryland, No. 53 in the rankings, on Saturday.
