    Janet Jackson, Yard Goats and music festival expected to create significant traffic in Hartford

    Police are warning motorists that traffic in Hartford is expected to be heavier than normal because of several music events and Yard Goats games this weekend.

    The events are expected to impact traffic in the downtown and north districts, according to the Hartford Police Department .

    On Saturday, the Capitol Groove will kick off a two-day music festival at Bushnell Park beginning at noon. Then at 6:10 p.m., the Hartford Yard Goats will square off against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Dunkin’ Park.

    Additionally, the Xfinity Theatre will be hosting a concert featuring Janet Jackson and Nelly at 8 p.m.

    Sunday in Hartford will also be full of events.

    The Capitol Groove will continue its music festival at Bushnell Park at noon, at the same time a “Love Your Block” event will be hosted in the area of 3200 Main St. in Hartford.

    Additionally, the Yard Goats will conclude its home stand against the Fisher Cats at Dunkin’ Park at 1:10 p.m.
