    Man shot in neck during double shooting in Hartford on Fourth of July

    HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford police say one person is in critical condition and another injured after a shooting on Seymour Street Thursday night.

    Police responded to Hartford Hospital around 11:24 p.m. after a 19-year-old gunshot victim appeared for treatment, transported there by a private vehicle.

    According to police, he was listed in critical condition after being shot in the neck. As of Friday morning, his condition changed to “stable,” police said.

    A second gunshot victim in his 20s was picked up by an ambulance while trying to walk to a hospital. Police said he was in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

    Officers determined the two men were shot while in the area of 192 Seymour Street, while there were a lot of people in the street for the Fourth of July.

    Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said the holiday is busy day, with the protentional of violence across the country.

    The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are investigating. Police said there’s video evidence of the shooting.

    Police said the shooting has no connection to another shooting which left a women dead and a man injured on Cleveland Avenue around the same time.

    A woman was also stabbed the same night, while on New Britain Avenue.
