HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Demon slayers, superheroes and elves all made their way to the Connecticut Convention Center Saturday for Connecticon XXI.

In its 21st year, Connecticon has grown by tenfold since the first convention at the University of Hartford in 2003. Fans coming to this weekend’s convention couldn’t be more excited to come back.

“We actually got here at 6am, we were the first people in line, and we just wanted to explore everything,” said cosplayer Ella Dinardi dressed as Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil. “This is my first year actually dressing as anything, so .. we wanted to have fun, go around and check out all the art.”

There were gaming competitions (console and PC), cosplay contests and vendors. The highlight of the convention for many were the celebrity panels, especially the voice actors.

Convention goer Jordan Allegretta told News 8, “Voice actors hold a special place in our heart because their not as widely recognizable as on screen celebrities so showing them the recognition they deserve is an important part of our con experience”

Connecticon comes to a close Sunday morning with a screening of Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban and a panel on women in voice acting.
