    Man arrested for slashing woman’s neck in Hartford

    HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A man accused of slashing a woman’s neck on July 4 has been arrested, according to police.

    Hartford police said officers responded to the 400 block of New Britain Avenue for the report of a stabbing. They found a woman suffering from “a slash type wound” to the neck. She was taken to a hospital, where police said she was in stable condition.

    Police identified Jose Vasquez, 41, of Hartford, and submitted an arrest warrant, which a judge approved. Members of the Hartford Police Fugitive Task Force found him Wednesday, police said.

    Vasquez faces charges of first-degree assault causing serious physical injury and second-degree breach of peace. His bond was set at $750,000.
