HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two men were taken into custody Thursday after they arrived at a location in Hartford under the impression they were going to exchange money for sexual acts with a child, according to police.

The arrests were part of an operation with Hartford police and the FBI Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking Task Force.

Christopher Cheong, 30, of New Britain, and 50-year-old Jeffrey Cunningham, of West Hartford, were both charged with criminal attempt at illegal sexual contact with a minor under the age of 16, criminal attempt at second-degree sexual assault and criminal attempt at commercial sexual abuse of a minor.

They have been assigned $500,000 bonds.
