HARTINGTON, Neb ( KCAU ) — A Nebraska judge has ruled that statements a suspect made regarding a 2022 murder investigation are admissible in court.

According to court documents, Carrie Jones, who is on trial for her alleged role in the death of four people, filed a motion to suppress statements she made to law enforcement over the course of four months.

This motion was filed because Jones had not been warned of her Miranda rights prior to questioning, and authorities allegedly used techniques to pressure her.

Documents say that the motion was filed for a total of nine statements made between August 4, 2022 and Dec. 16, 2022.

The judge denied the motion to suppress eight of the statements, leaving any other exhibits to be reviewed by the court before being published to the jury.

The case will continue with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for August 24.
