BAR HARBOR — Beatrix Farrand Society welcomes K Greene to present “The Art of the Seed” at Garland Farm on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 4 p.m. Greene is the co-founder of the Hudson Valley Seed Library, which in 2004 became the first public library-based seed lending library in the United States. In 2008, he went on to co-found Hudson Valley Seed Company, focusing on heirloom and open pollinated vegetable, flower and herb seed. Greene will discuss the artistic value of seeds and plants and the stories surrounding them. A variety of artist-designed seed packs will be for sale after the talk.

Literacy volunteers needed in Midcoast area

TD Bank Golf Tournament raises over $14,000 for NMCC Foundation
Aroostook County – The 17th annual TD Bank Golf Tournament to Benefit the NMCC Foundation took place on Thursday, August 15th, at the Presque Isle Country Club. This year’s event raised $14,851 to support students at Northern Maine Community College, drawing the largest number of teams since 2019.
