Cowboys help lead team in World Series tournament
The Diamond Kings Sports Academy (DKSA) program may be based out of Thomasville, Ga., but the DKSA Elite 15U team has a pair of players who proudly wear maroon and silver during the school year. Players Brett Harper and Myron Mobley are both of Madison, although the town’s ties with the DKSA program go beyond the players on the team. The team’s head coach is Michael Mobley, a long-time baseball coach in Madison.
Man killed in Valdosta apartment shooting
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A man was killed in an early Thursday morning shooting in Valdosta. Around 3:30 a.m. on July 18, Valdosta police officers were called to the Park Chase Apartments to a report of a person being shot. Officers say when they got to the scene they found a 32-year-old man in the stairwell with a gunshot to his torso.
