Former South Carolina athletic director Bob Marcum has died at age 87
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Bob Marcum, who served as athletic director at Kansas, South Carolina, UMass and Marshall, has died a few days after suffering a stroke. He was 87. South Carolina, UMass and Marshall's athletic departments all announced Marcum's death Wednesday, a day after he died. Arkansas coach John Calipari, who worked under Marcum at Massachusetts, posted on social media Sunday that Marcum was hospitalized after complications from a stroke.

State Police to offer assistance to S.C. in Roanoke teen’s homicide investigation
A state delegate is asking the Virginia State Police to help solve the murder of a Roanoke teen who was shot and killed in Myrtle Beach on Saturday. Jakolbi Taylor, 16, died at the scene of the shooting around 1 a.m., according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The homicide took place in a beach access area.
Florence lifts boil water advisory after water main break
FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) — The City of Florence lifted a boil water advisory Wednesday morning after it was issued for specific neighborhoods Monday evening. Customers located in the 400 to 800 blocks of South Church Street, 400 to 800 blocks of South Barringer Street, 300 block of Ervin Street, East Campbell Street, Prince Street, Noble Street, 200 block of East Elm Street, 400 to 700 blocks of Jarrott Street and the 400 block of Railroad Avenue were included in the advisory.
