As the city’s profile continues to grow, so too has the average person’s inability to keep up with Jersey City’s cost of living. Therefore, it is no wonder that despite the renaissance, many are demanding that the brakes on commercialization be pulled on a very public issue – Liberty State Park’s (LSP) Revitalization Program.

BRICK — Police have released two photos from Ring surveillance footage of the person believed to have robbed a bank in the Ocean County township on Wednesday afternoon. On July 24, at approximately 12:15 p.m. Brick Township police were dispatched to the Santander Bank, located between Brick and Beaverson Boulevards, for a report of a bank robbery that just occurred.

BTHS alumna receives Sharing Network Foundation scholarship
BRICK TOWNSHIP — Kimmy Kenny of Brick Township, who is a 2024 graduate of Brick Township High School, was one of seven high school students awarded scholarships from the Sharing Network Foundation. Earlier this month, they were presented the scholarships at NJ Sharing Network’s headquarters in New Providence. Kenny will be attending Ocean County College (OCC) and told The Ocean Star that she plans to attend OCC for two years before transferring into a four year college.

New shellfish nursery set up in Normandy Beach
BRICK TOWNSHIP — A new upweller location for ReClam the Bay opened up recently at the Normandy Beach Improvement Association, 541 Broad Ave., and will have a crew of volunteers there every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. An upweller is a shellfish nursery, and is a 4 feet by 10 feet tank that contains 10 or 12 siloes with mesh bottoms where the baby shellfish are placed.
