Mount Hope excited to expand city’s boundaries with Appalachian Heights site
MOUNT HOPE, WV (WOAY) – The city of Mount Hope recently made an intergovernmental agreement with Raleigh County regarding the Appalachian Heights site. Mayor Michael Kessinger calls it a positive step that they annexed Route 19 south into Raleigh at the North Beckley exit, expanding the city’s boundaries and the pipe yard adjacent to 19 to the right.
Three arrested for kidnapping, assault in Summers County
MEADOW BRIDGE W.Va. (Hinton News) - A 70-year-old man was reportedly kidnapped, robbed and beaten in Summers County on Thursday July 15. Three individuals have been arrested. According to a statement from the West Virginia State Police, "On Thursday, July 18, 2024, Senior Trooper S. K. Weikle of the Hinton Detachment, received a complaint regarding an elderly man who had been abducted, beaten and robbed." The statement goes on to say, "Senior Trooper S.K.
