Ride with the Clown Kid Bike Race fundraises for serious cause in Harveys Lake

HARVEYS LAKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A colorful, lighthearted fundraiser tackled a serious health subject on Saturday.

The second annual Ride with the Clown Kid was held Saturday morning at Harveys Lake.

It raised money and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease.

All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Alzheimer’s Association to help find a cure.

The organizer is 28/22 News Multi-Media Journalist Brian Orbin. He lost his grandfather to Alzheimer’s in 2020.

“This is huge. I’m so thrilled to see everybody come together and, you know, just have this sense of community it’s great that everybody could come together on a nice Saturday and it’s really good to help just find a cure for this disease because honestly if we could put an end to it then that would be near and dear to my heart to see nobody else suffer with the same faith as my grandfather had to,” Orbin explained.

25 riders participated and helped raise more than $2,500 in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
