SOUTH HADLEY — During the Select Board meeting on July 9, the board approved a request for a middle school adjustment counselor for fiscal years 2025 and 2026. Officials identify victim in deadly Holyoke shooting
HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The victim of the shooting on West Street in Holyoke has been identified as 38-year-old Dexter Ortiz of Holyoke. On July 9, just before midnight, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation. When they arrived, they found Ortiz suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
