Annual state environmental conference set for next week
(BISMARCK) – The Upper Midwest Section of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) will host the fourth annual North Dakota Environmental Conference on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, at Bismarck State College’s National Energy Center of Excellence. The all-day event will bring together environmental professionals from industry, consulting, government, and academia to address topics including air quality, stormwater management, water quality and wastewater treatment, waste management, and more.

Severe weather and heavy rainfall
Some heavy rainfall overnight occurred from Jamestown through Grand Forks and Crookston where 1-3″ of rain was common. Additional rain in the N. Valley will push totals over 3″ in some areas today. A strong area of low pressure continues to move through southern Canada today. More storms will push into the Valley and eastward this afternoon. However, a BEAUTIFUL Labor Day weekend is in store for much of the Valley and Lakes Country with highs in the 70s and 80s with no precip expected.
