Mavericks 4-H state results
MAVERICKS –The McCall Mavericks 4-H Team representing Valley County 4-H competed in the State Championship competition in Rigby, Idaho on July 8 and 9, competing in three events. The team placed second overall in horse judging and horse bowl and fifth in hippology. Scarlett Keese placed first in the individual horse judging event. In Horse bowl, Evie Wilifinger was second with Kaiti Vance third and Scarlett Keese fifth. In hippology, Wilifinger was second with Keese in third. The Pioneer Fire in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest has now expanded to 25,688 acres, 14% contained. Firefighters have been working diligently to protect the community of Stehekin through strategic firing operations.
