Monmouth College Athletic Programs Boasts Plethora of Monmouth/Galesburg Area Athletes
Monmouth College has always historically had a good number of local athletes on its sports rosters. The 2023-2024 school year was no different. During his weekly Monday morning WRAM Morning Show interview, Monmouth College Sports Information Director Nathan Baliva mentioned how important keeping a good pipeline of those local athletes helped the programs stay successful. One Injured in Galesburg Shooting Incident
On July 6, 2024, at about 11:48 p.m., Galesburg Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 000 block of South Cherry Street. Upon arrival, a victim of a gunshot wound was located in the street. Officers provided lifesaving treatment until medical personnel could arrive. The victim was identified as Mario D Washington, age 45. Washington was transported to St. Mary’s ER and then to St. Francis in Peoria. He remains in the hospital receiving treatment.
Bloomington man found dead inside vehicle
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Bloomington Police are working to learn more about a man who was found dead in his vehicle over the weekend. According to police, an officer noticed a running sedan stopped along the guard way on Veterans Parkway just after 3:15 a.m. Sunday. New plays and a free workshop from Heartland Theatre Company
The Heartland Theatre Company hosts an annual 10-minute play festival, recruiting some of the best work from writers all over the world. Normal’s wonderful theatre company also hosts a yearly call for new plays for the Mike Dobbins Memorial New Plays from the Heartland Festival. This year, the three winning one-act plays will have enhanced staged readings produced this weekend at the Heartland Theatre Company in Normal, Illinois. The winning plays are The Shill, by Gregory Mandryk out of Cleveland, Ohio (directed by Champaign-Urbana’s talented Douglas Malcolm); A Shop in the Darkness, by Troy, Michigan’s Jacquelyn Priskorn (directed by Illinois State University’s Natasha Warloe, an NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate); and Making Some Noise, by Claudia Haas out of Minnesota (directed by Tabitha Miller, familiar to fans of the Coalescence Theatre Project).
