Residents are urged to stay indoors when thunder roars and to have multiple ways to receive weather warnings. The severe threat is classified as a slight risk, with the main concerns being heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts moving southeast at 45 mph.

NWS upgrades Elkhorn-Bennington-Blair tornado to EF-4
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The National Weather Service office in Omaha has revised the rating for one of the Arbor Day tornadoes that struck eastern Nebraska and western Iowa in late April. Specifically, the tornado that tracked from Elkhorn into Bennington and Blair was originally rated as an EF-3 tornado with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph. After a thorough review, the NWS has upgraded that rating to EF-4 with maximum sustained winds of 170 mph.
