Iowa Drivers Can Now Keep Their ID On Their Phone
EVERYTHING IS ON YOUR PHONE. NOW YOUR ID IS TOO. Iowa has introduced a new, convenient way for residents to carry their driver’s licenses or state-issued IDs: the Iowa Mobile ID. This FREE digital version of your official ID is available through a smartphone app and acts as a companion to your physical ID. While the mobile ID app is optional and not all businesses are equipped to verify it yet, it provides a secure and private way to carry your identification digitally.
July Heat and Humidity Holding Through Week
OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Hot and humid is the storyline and we enter the final days of July. Dew points in the mid 70s, highs in the 90s, heat index values near 100 degrees will be a common occurrence out the door for the week. For tonight, look for increasing cloud cover, along with shower and thunderstorm activity through the overnight hours. Most of this activity will reside in our northern counties, with threats including frequent lightning, and an isolated chance for gusty winds and localized hail. Areas that do see rain will likely see heavy downpours.

West Des Moines reopened Crossroads Park on Monday after police and city staff decided to close it this weekend for a Friday night fight that involved 50 people. Police were dispatched to the park, 5205 Ashworth Road, for a large fight that was reported on Friday night, the West Des Moines Police Department said in a news release.
