NASA has issued a warning about a rare celestial event happening today . A huge, ‘skyscraper-sized' asteroid is hurtling toward earth at an incomprehensible speed.

The asteroid in question , named 2024 JJ25, was discovered by astrologists in Hawaii on May 2. NASA has been tracking it since. They believe it measures approximately 370 feet in diameter, making it one of the largest near-earth objects that NASA has ever tracked.

The asteroid is traveling at approximately 33,673 kilometers per hour, and is expected to be closest to earth today, July 3.

The asteroid is not expected to collide with earth, but will reach a proximity of around 4 million kilometers - an unusually close distance that will provide rare opportunities for scientific observation.

NASA has advised people that there is no need for concern about the asteroid hitting earth. The event is exciting for astronomers and researchers who will be closely monitoring the event. The data collected today will enhance our understanding of near-earth objects and the broader field of planetary science.
