Ryan Seacrest Shares Behind-the-Scenes Video of His First Day at 'Wheel of Fortune'

Ryan Seacrest shared a behind-the-scenes video of his first day on set ahead of officially taking over as host of Wheel of Fortune this fall.

On Tuesday, July 16, the American Idol host took to Instagram to offer a sneak peek for viewers—and he gave off some serious first-day-of-school vibes.

"A glimpse of my first day at @wheeloffortune , and I’m still spinning with excitement!" he captioned the update.

"Listen to the sound of this wheel, right? Iconic," Seacrest said at the beginning of the video after spinning the iconic wheel and then leaning in close to take it in. "I find it soothing."

Another clip showed Seacrest arriving at the stage and admitting, "My heart's pounding. I'm so excited." As he beheld the wheel for the first time in person, he shared, "The wheel's maybe smaller than you'd think," before quipping, "As am I."

Later during his first day, he confessed, "You know, I could not sleep last night, I was so excited."

To finish off the video, Seacrest carried a tote bag on his shoulder and a stack of notebooks/binders while attempting to click his heels together while jumping in the air. He then skipped off, away from the camera.

Instagram users shared their excitement to watch Seacrest officially take over after Pat Sajak 's final episode aired on June 7 after more than 40 years of helming the beloved game show.

One fan wrote, "It’s like your first day of school, so excited!! We will miss Pat, but can’t wait to see your debut! 👏🏻."

Another Instagram user commented, " @ryanseacrest Can’t wait! You’ll be an amazing host ❤️🥰," while another echoed, "You’re going to do amazing!!! So excited for you. Can’t wait to watch. ❤️."

Meanwhile, yet another declared, "You’re excited…no I’m excited! This is going to be epic…can’t wait to see you on screen again!"

Wheel of Fortune is currently airing re-runs on weekdays on ABC. However, Seacrest officially takes over for Season 42 , premiering this fall. (And don't worry, Vanna White will return, too!)
