“Don’t Stop Believe’” by Journey is a notoriously difficult song to cover effectively. But country star Carrie Underwood has clearly been perfecting her karaoke chops lately.

This past weekend, Underwood performed her first shows ever in Hawaii to a sold-out crowd. The audience at The Blaisdell Center was quite excited to see Underwood for the first time. And she gave the crowd a special treat with a stunning rendition of Journey’s famous hit “Don’t Stop Believin’”. You can watch a fan video of the performance below:

Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” Isn’t Carrie Underwood’s Only Killer Cover

Carrie Underwood’s Journey cover was absolutely wonderful. She really proved that she can tackle rock songs (and anything outside of country, honestly) with ease. This isn’t the first time Underwood has stunned audiences with some stellar cover songs, either.

“I Told You So” by Randy Travis and “Some Hearts” by Marshall Crenshaw are two of Underwood’s most fan-beloved covers that she’s performed. Underwood has also covered “How Great Thou Art” by Stuart K. Hine and “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. And, we simply can’t forget her rock and roll covers, including “Paradise City” and “Welcome To The Jungle” by Guns N’ Roses.

Underwood has also taken on a few folk-rock classics as well. A couple of examples include “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac and “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” by Stevie Nicks. Underwood really can sing it all!

Carrie Underwood has posted quite a bit about her time in Hawaii on Instagram recently, too. In one particular post, she gushed about the crowd at The Blaisdell Center, saying it was “the loudest crowd we’ve ever played for!” According to the singer, her backing band agreed with her sentiment. We have to say, it’s quite surprising that this is the first time Underwood has performed in Hawaii in her 20-year-long career.

Underwood is currently touring across the United States, though most of her tour dates will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is expected to wrap up her very successful Las Vegas Residency, Carrie Underwood Reflection, on October 26. She is expected to wrap up the year at Country Bay Music Festival in Miami, Florida on November 9.
