Hawai‘i Island police are investigating a homicide after an elderly woman was found strangled to death in her Puna home. On June 20 at approximately 3:14 p.m., Puna patrol officers responded to a residence in the 16-1100 block of Uhini Ana Road in Mountain View after an elderly man found his 71-year-old wife lying unresponsive on the floor within their residence. Responding officers noticed the victim, Yong Cha Kim of Mountain View, had suffered several suspicious injuries and that items within the residence appeared to be disturbed.
