TaKayla Andrews just wrapped up a very successful freshman year at Idabel High School and is now headed into her sophomore season. Andrews is one of the best athletes on the school’s powerlifting team. She has also played tenor saxophone in the band for four years and has been in art for three years.

After winning 27 games, losing only nine and graduating only three starters, the Lady Savages show promise this fall. They made a deep postseason run last year and appeared in the state tournament this spring in slow pitch. “Despite losing starters in three positions, the team is confident in our ability to fill these gaps with high quality players ready to step up and make an impact,” head coach Jake Harris said. “With the majority of our core players returning, we expect to leverage their experience to make a significant impact on the field.”

It’s been nearly 40 years since the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore received a major renovation but work is being done to attract a new generation. A new event center will be built overlooking Claremore. There will also be a collection area to showcase Will Rogers’ memorabilia collection. A new entryway will open up for the museum and officials said they want it to be more appealing for events and programs.
