Warriors (WW) announces the Ribbon Cutting for the PenFed Grand Lodge and Patriot Pavilion will be held on May 18, 2024. Willing Warriors is excited to expand the number of groups and programs offered at the Warrior Retreat in 2024 and beyond. The expansion will allow WW to serve over 600 more Warriors annually! The spacious six-bedroom home and 2,000-square-foot multi-purpose room will host expanded Warrior group programs, providing a safe and nurturing environment for their healing journey. Retreat stays are already planned for post-traumatic stress counseling, moral injury, entrepreneurial training, and Veteran-led leadership training, all of which will play a crucial role in recovery and resiliency.

The PenFed Credit Union and PenFed Foundation have furthered their commitment to Warrior families with $500,000 in funding to bring the vision of the Grand Lodge to life. Community partners, including Lockheed Martin, JANSON Communications, Micron, Strategic ACI, Inc., Contract Solutions, Inc., The Neal Nichols Family Foundation, and The Robert Trent Jones Foundation have sponsored rooms, demonstrating their unwavering support for our cause. General Carter and Christi Ham sponsored an extraordinary outdoor space for camaraderie, The Patriot Pavilion, symbolizing their dedication to creating a space for healing and growth. The Grand Lodge is a testament to the power of collective action and shared mission.

"We are proud to continue our support of Willing Warriors as they provide a home away from home for wounded and ill warriors and their families," said James Schenck, President/CEO of PenFed Credit Union and PenFed Foundation. "The fight does not end on the battlefield for our wounded warriors. The PenFed Grand Lodge will host hundreds of warriors and their families so they can renew their spirits and gain access to critically needed group programs." Shirley Dominick, president and co-founder of Willing Warriors, states, "Willing Warriors has long valued its partnership with PenFed Credit Union and the PenFed Foundation, as well as our

community partners. Their support, whether through donations, sponsorships, or volunteering, has been instrumental in our journey. It demonstrates a deep commitment to caring for warriors and their family members. We are bringing life-changing stays and impactful programs to our military heroes, and we couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you for standing with us!"

WW is a charitable organization providing cost-free retreat stays and programs that positively impact wounded, ill, and injured service members, disabled Veterans, and their families. Willing Warriors opened on July 4, 2015, as a volunteer and community-supported 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. Willing Warriors has served over 2,400 warriors and their families at the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run in Haymarket, Virginia. They provide non-medical programs that positively affect the well-being and lives of military service members and Veterans who are wounded, ill, and injured while serving our nation. The Retreat offers a six-day respite stay during which warriors and their families can temporarily escape hospital settings and day-to-day demands to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with each other. Recovering warriors can participate in nearly 40 activities to heal their minds and bodies, including massage therapy, canine support services, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, helicopter tours, and five-star meals prepared by the Visiting Chef Program (VCP). The VCP consists of local chefs and military chef teams from around the region, including the Presidential Food Service Team. The Retreat currently features two ADA-accessible homes on 37 acres in the shadow of the historic Bull Run Mountains.
