Lowndes County Public Schools (LCPS) announced the system will host an auction on April 29. The sale will generate added revenue and support various educational programs.

The event is expected to draw a large crowd of community members, parents and businesses eager to support the local school district. The auction will feature a wide array of items including electronics, furniture, cafeteria equipment, and much more.

The old cotton gin, located next door to the Board of Education building, will also be auctioned. The winner of this historic gem will manage demolition and cleanup of the structure.

Samita Jeter, LCPS superintendent, expressed her appreciation for the community as they support this important cause, and said she hopes the funds received will help in many areas of the LCPS district.

“We are thrilled to host this auction as a way to raise funds for our schools and support the educational needs of our students,” Jeter said. “Our community support never ceases to amaze me, and we are grateful for their continued support.”

Proceeds from the auction will directly help educational initiatives within the Lowndes County Public School system, providing funding for programs, resources, and opportunities for students.

Dr. Kenneth Fair, LCPS director of operations, said school system administrators encourage everyone to come out and join them for a day of fundraising.

“Every dollar raised at this auction will directly benefit our students and help us provide them with the best possible educational experience,” Fair said. “The auction will take place at 93 Bus Lane in Hayneville, starting at 9:00 am. For more information about the auction or to donate items, please contact me at (334) 548-2131.”

Lowndes County Public Schools provides a high-quality education for all students and relies on the support of the community to achieve this goal. Events like the upcoming auction play a crucial role in ensuring that students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
