Hays County Sheriff's Office Seeks Clues in Mysterious Death of Valentin Castro in Kyle, TX
The Hays County Sheriff's Office continues its search for answers in the unresolved death of a man in Kyle, Texas, whose burnt remains were discovered last year. According to FOX 7 Austin, the remains were found on July 10, 2023, on private property in the 400 block of Running Bull Lane and were later identified as those of 20-year-old Valentin Castro. An autopsy was carried out, but, the results have yet to provide a definitive answer to the circumstances of Castro's death.
Mosquito Trap Tests Positive For West Nile Virus In Hays County
The Hays County Health Department (HCHD) received confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) on July 18, 2024, that several mosquito trap samples collected in the 78676 ZIP code tested positive for West Nile Virus. The positive samples were collected from two sites in and around the city of Wimberley on July 11, 2024. These are the first reported West Nile Virus-positive IDs of the 2024 season in Hays County.
