The Hayward Bass Club will hold its 20th annual Free Youth Bass Tournament Sunday July 28 on the Chippewa Flowage out of The Landing Resort/Restaurant.
Bass club members, local professional guides, and regional avid bass anglers will take the youth out on the water for an afternoon of fun, friendly bass fishing and competition.
The event is open to youth 10 through 17 years old (16 and 17-year-olds need a fishing license). Youth will fish catch-and-release style just like the pros from noon to 4 p.m. and hold their largest three fish in livewells to bring to the weigh-in and then release them.
Participants may bring their own favorite bass hunting tackle or use gear provided by the club and guides.
After the weigh-in, a shore lunch will be served to participants, families, guides and spectators. Prizes/gifts will be awarded to all participants and the leader board will be revealed after the meal.

The event will be staffed by Club Members, families, and the youth leaders from the Hayward Area High School Bass Team (HAHSBT).
Since space in the event is limited by the committed boats and Boat Captains, youth participants need to be signed up with reservations ahead of time. On the day of the event all youth who have reservations must check in for final registration with a signed permission slip no later than 11:15 a.m. at Tournament Headquarters at the resort.
