Teens Trapped in Car after 2-Vehicle Crash
Two sisters from Thayer, Kansas were transported to the hospital in Salina after a two vehicle crash on I-135. Walk-In Enrollment, Back to School Fair Tuesday
Walk-in enrollment at Salina Public Schools is scheduled for this week, along with the Saline County Back to School Fair. While online enrollment has been going on for a couple of weeks, those who would prefer to enroll in person can do so on Tuesday. Walk-in enrollment will be located at Central High School, 650 E. Crawford. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Kevin Thomas Jr. claims inaugural USAC Silver Crown Salt City 100 title
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kevin Thomas Jr. claimed the title in the inaugural USAC Silver Crown Salt City 100 on Saturday evening at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. Thomas Jr. entered the night with five runner-up finishes, but no titles. The Cullman, Alabama native was able to secure the championship in his 22nd career start in the USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series.

Hafertepe Jr. Dominates 81 Speedway for Third-Straight Victory
WICHITA, KS (July 20, 2024) – Sam Hafertepe Jr.’s first three wins of the season on the American Sprint Car Series National Tour came consecutively in June, and history repeated itself Saturday night. Classified staff in Lawrence school district could see 99-cent raises
The Lawrence school district has offered classified staff members 99-cent raises to their hourly wages as part of a tentative contract agreement. PAL-CWA has been advocating for a living wage for the custodians, paraeducators, food workers and other staff in the district it represents. Ross Allison-Natale, president of Communications Workers of America Local 6400, previously said the union has primarily focused on achieving a living wage for the 2024-25 year.
