FCI Gilmer granted Direct-Hire Authority as well as Hazelton

GLENVILLE, W.Va. (WBOY) — Two weeks after Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Hazelton announced it was granted Direct-Hire Authority , Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Gilmer has announced it was also granted Direct-Hire Authority for correctional officer positions.

Direct-Hire Authority allows federal agencies like the Bureau of Prisons (BOP), which controls both West Virginia federal prisons, to fill vacancies when they’re experiencing a critical hiring need or severe shortage.

Applicants are still required to submit a resume, educational transcripts, DD-214s, and other mandatory forms. Those with specific job questions or who need hiring information can call the Human Resources Department at 304-626-2555 or email them at GIL-HumanResources-S@bop.gov .
