ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Missouri Lottery player wins $100,000 while on her way to deal with a “plant emergency” in north St. Louis County.

The lucky winner bought the ticket from Phillip 66, located at 7323 North Lindbergh Boulevard in Hazelwood.

The winner said she was on the way to her sister’s house to help deal with a dying plant and decided to make a quick stop. “I was going to her house because I was going to kill that plant,” the winner joked. “So, I just randomly stopped at the gas station.”

When the winner made the stop, she decided to purchase a “$100,000 Cash Payout” scratcher ticket and quickly scratched it off when she got back in the car.

When the lucky winner saw what she scratched off, she couldn’t believe the results. “I was shocked!” the winner said. “I actually got lost on the way to her house! I had to call her because I didn’t believe what just happened.”

The lucky winner already mentioned that she plans to use her money on a family vacation so everyone can enjoy it. “I’m going to surprise my kids with a trip to a theme park they’ve wanted to go to,” she said.

The “$100,000 Cash Payout” scratch ticket is $5 and has a top prize of $100,000. There is a 1 in 4.04 chance of winning a prize when participating in this scratcher ticket. The “$100,000 Cash Payout” scratcher has $3,106,405 of unclaimed prizes remaining.
