A 29-year-old Pottsville man was sentenced Monday in federal court to 84 months in prison for conspiracy to commit robbery. Joshua Marsh was sentenced in Scranton by U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

WILKES-BARRE — A Plymouth woman who admitted to taking part in abandoning a malnourished pit bull puppy named Nova in Pittston was granted immediate parole Monday. Luzerne County Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. sentenced Shaniqwa Shantel Scott, 25, to seven-days to 15 months at the county correctional facility on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals.
