RICHMOND, Va. – The CAA has announced its 2024-25 men’s basketball conference schedule. The conference schedule will open with a single-game HBCU rivalry on Tuesday, Dec. 3, as Hampton hosts North Carolina A&T , before the full slate begins on Thursday, Jan. 2. Conference games will be played primarily on Thursdays and Saturdays with some games flexed to Mondays. Those selections and the full multimedia schedule will be announced before tip-off of non-conference play.

CAA matchups will be available on FloHoops, CBS Sports Network, and local television partners throughout the league’s footprint. In addition, the semifinals and final of the 2025 Jersey Mike’s CAA Men’s Basketball Championship at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

The full 14-team schedule opens the second day of 2025 with the opening night highlighted by a showdown at Trask Coliseum between Towson and UNCW, foes who played three thrilling contests a year ago including a CAA Quarterfinal. The opening Saturday of league play (Jan. 4) will send the Tigers down the coast to TD Arena for a clash with Charleston, Towson’s CAA Semifinal opponent in each of the last two seasons.

New HBCU basketball head coach Ivan Thomas of Hampton University will make his league debut on December 3 against HBCU rival North Carolina A&T, while the CAA’s other two new head coaches – Charleston’s Chris Mack and William & Mary’s Brian Earl – will lead their first league contests on January 2 when Charleston hosts Hampton and William & Mary visits Hofstra.

The opening weekend includes a game at Matthews Arena between Hofstra and Northeastern (Jan. 4), two familiar opponents who played a thrilling contest won by the Huskies in Boston a year ago on CBS Sports Network as part of the league’s Monday night national television package.

Early January will feature a pair of rematches for second-year league member Campbell from memorable games in the Camels’ first season as a CAA member. Campbell will visit UNCW (Jan. 4) in the in-state opponents’ first meeting since a 105-100 double-overtime win for the Camels in Buies Creek last February. Two weeks later, Monmouth will face Campbell in those teams’ rematch of an 88-87 thriller of a game last year that ended on a half-court buzzer-beater by Xander Rice.

Both meetings between southern rivals Charleston and UNCW will land on Thursday nights this year, as the Cougars will host first on January 23 before the Seahawks have the honors on February 13. The rematch of last year’s CAA Championship will also be on a Thursday night in Charleston, as Stony Brook visits on January 30.

Additional regional rivalries that earn home-and-home meetings on the calendar include Stony Brook-Hofstra (Feb. 10 in Hempstead; Feb. 27 in Stony Brook); Delaware-Drexel (Jan. 25 in Philadelphia, Feb. 20 in Newark), William & Mary-Hampton (Jan. 16 in Hampton; Jan. 23 in Williamsburg); and Elon-North Carolina A&T (Jan. 2 in Greensboro, Feb. 13 in Elon).
