Norfolk State women’s basketball , one of the top mid-major and HBCU programs in the country, has announced its non-conference schedule.

The Norfolk State women’s basketball team, fresh off two consecutive MEAC championships, is gearing up for a challenging non-conference slate this season that includes matchups against several Power 5 opponents. The Spartans open the season at home with games against William & Mary (Nov. 4) and Longwood (Nov. 7) before embarking on a tough three-game road trip. First, they head to Missouri on Nov. 10, followed by a visit to Alabama on Nov. 13 and a clash with long-time HBCU rival Hampton on Nov. 16.

The MEAC champions will then return home on Nov. 20 to face Radford, before traveling to UNC Wilmington on Nov. 23. One of the highlights of the season will be the Spartans’ participation in the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout from Nov. 28-30, where they will face Washington State, Wyoming, and Green Bay.

After returning from Puerto Rico, NSU will take on WNIT champion St. Louis in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 7. The Spartans’ non-conference schedule also includes road games against North Carolina A&T (Dec. 15), North Carolina (Dec. 22), and Auburn (Dec. 29). They will host D2 HBCU Shaw, Drexel, and Virginia Lynchburg as they prepare for another MEAC title defense and maintain its spot as a premiere mid-major and HBCU squad.

Norfolk State went 27-6 last season en route to its second-consecutive MEAC title after going 26-7 the previous season under head coach Larry Vickers.
