    Tyquan King, a transfer linebacker from North Carolina A&T, has emerged as a critical asset to Temple University’s defense in the 2024 season. With his versatility and relentless play, King has significantly impacted the Owls’ defense, racking up 53 total tackles in just six games, including 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. His ability to consistently be around the ball has made him one of the team’s top defensive performers.

    One of King’s standout performances came on October 5, 2024 , against UConn, where he notched an impressive 15 tackles. This marked his highest output of the season, demonstrating his ability to be a disruptive force against formidable offenses.     2024 (Redshirt Junior): Made Temple debut at Oklahoma recording a sack and six tackles, including a TFL … picked up five tackles at Navy … recorded a sack in first Temple start against Utah State and named Temple defensive player of the week … led the team in tackles vs. Army for the second consecutive game which included a career-high nine solo stops … currently fourth in the American Athletic Conference in total tackles … named scholar-athlete of the week (Army). College : Played two seasons at North Carolina A&T (2021-22) before transferring to East Carolina in 2023.

    2023 (Redshirt Sophomore) : Played in one game (at eventual National Champion Michigan) and made one tackle.

    2022 (Sophomore) : Played one game and had a career-high 10 tackles (6 solo) and 1.0 TFL.

    2021 (Freshman) : Played in nine games with one start … made 33 tackles as a true freshman with 3.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble … had his breakout game at Charleston Southern earned ing Big South freshman of the week when he posted 15 tackles, 2.0 TFL and 2.0 sacks (the Aggies had a single-game school-record 11 sacks in the game) … made an immediate impact in the season opener at Furman when he made seven tackles and one interception.

    High School : Played linebacker and running back at Dillon High under head coach Jackie Hayes … as a junior, rushed for 602 yards and 15 touchdowns on 67 carries and earned first-team all-conference ..
