HBCU Alabama A&M University received $2,498,274.00 in donations during last week’s Homecoming festivities – setting a new record for the second consecutive year and outpacing last year’s total by over $1.1 million. The record-setting week of support sets the stage for a year-long celebration on The Hill .

In 2025, the University will celebrate 150 years. The sesquicentennial celebration is rooted in an overarching campaign to raise $150 million from private and public sources to support campus improvements, STEM capacity, and scholarships at Alabama’s largest Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

“At a moment when our campus is growing, enrollment is surging, and research and programs are reaching new heights – the world is seeking the kind of diverse, driven, talented leaders who have always defined A&M,” said President Daniel K. Wims. “It’s our time to celebrate our rich heritage and re-image a bold future for Alabama A&M.”

During Homecoming week, the University invited early support of the #AAMU150 sesquicentennial campaign. In total, the University has already garnered nearly $15 million in various sources of support toward the $150 million December 2025 goal.

“This next chapter is ours to write. Together, we will light the way forward and spark new possibilities by energizing a growing, destination campus; equipping researchers, faculty, and professionals of the future with the latest in STEM tools and technologies; and empowering scholars ready to lead and serve on a new scale,” said Wims.

2024 Homecoming gifts from AAMU class reunions totaled more than $1.5 million. Other major donors included the initiates of the Delta Delta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; Alabama Power; The Home Depot; the Sigma Beta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; Regions Bank, and Prince Hall Masons.

Alumni, supporters, and friends of the University are invited to become early #AAMU150 donors at www.aamu.edu/give as donations to all initiatives will be counted toward the campaign.
