The most fucked up thing in my opinion about the whole opioid epidemic, is the way the government helps us get off the illegal opiates! The 2 MAT programs they have suboxone and methadone, the withdrawal from them both is 10 times longer then coming off straight heroin! The suboxone withdrawal isn't as bad as the heroin withdrawal, but I'd rather just go through the worst heroin withdrawal than put up with being so uncomfortable for a month that you'd be lucky to sleep 5 hours in them 30 days! The methadone though, I really feel for you if you've went through a methadone withdrawal, you are a beast! That is the worst heroin withdrawal that also last 30-45 days maybe longer! That is torture! And in my opinion, the government formulated it just like that! They were thinking most addicts can't go the 3 days of withdrawal without relapsing! So the 2 MAT programs we put out there will have a withdrawal that last 10 times longer!
